Native Americans in sci-fi.... originally, Heart didn't even have an appearance! He was stuck in the past with the way pop-media believe Native Americans would be, until my search took me to a native american website, more specifically, a Lakota site, I have narrowed my study to that specific tribe, because you have to, there's 300 + tribes out there! They are commonly known as Sioux, while they don't mind it themselves, that's actually originally a french word, meaning "enemy" I don't like using what French used to call them, so I refer to them as Lakotas, which means "friend, neighbor, ally" their real names happens to be Dakota, Lakota, Nakota. Where they locate is usually Dakota, in the US.

After talking to the people there, I realized "this is a group of people who moved on as well." (pretty much like Chinese... :O We love our clothings and martial arts, but we wear suits and ties too.) A lot of them still live in such poverty it's heart breaking, that's where I have my character Heart represent those spirit that yells to nothing, striving to get out of their situation but have a hard time still.

Yeah, they may be in your back yard cleaning up trash, paving the road, they may be in your school, they maybe an actor, witch doctor, you name it....

So why not a mech pilot in the future?
I don't see it that often. (actually... I can't recall seeing one...)

But i did forget to explain their custom when I first introduced them, that caused a lot of confusion, the normal knowledge I have now about natives is not a common knowledge. But they know better than I, I just hope those natives who are watching me cut me some slack when I make mistakes. XD I appreciate graceful notes.
